Wisconsin State Employees Raise $2.5 Million for Charities Through ‘Partners in Giving” Campaign

Certainly one way to measure the importance of government workers is to visit your child’s classroom, or appreciate the graciousness of the park ranger who welcomed us to the dog park recently and thanked us for buying a permit to support the parks.

But another way, as reported by News 3 this week, is to appreciate the $2.5 million over 7,000 state, university and UW Hospital employees in Dane County donated to charities last year.

The combined campaign, called Partners in Giving, presented the big check to 11 nonprofit umbrella groups representing over 500 charitable organizations. We think that’s pretty remarkable all things considered, and add it to our list of contributions to our state by state workers for which we are appreciative.
