Volunteers Needed for Prevent Cancer Foundation 5k Walk/Run on September 25
Prevent Cancer Foundation is looking for volunteers for their 8th Annual 5k Walk/Run taking place the morning of Sunday, September 25, 2016. They will once again return to Nationals Park with a walk/run route around the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.
Last year, they raised over $149,000 to support the Foundation’s mission of saving lives across all populations through cancer prevention and early detection. In order to execute another successful Prevent Cancer 5k Walk/Run they will need a strong team of volunteers serving throughout the morning. There will be a variety of tasks for volunteers including:
- checking in participants,
- directing as a course marshal along the route,
- getting the crowd excited and more.
Want to Volunteer?
Please email kimberly.jappell@preventcancer.org if you are able to assist. Feel free to pass this email on to friends or family who may want to volunteer with you. Volunteers will be asked to arrive by 7:00 a.m. The event concludes at 11:30 a.m.
Please help spread the word about the event. Registration is open at www.preventcancer5k.org. The event is an important fundraiser for Prevent Cancer Foundation along with an opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of saving lives through cancer prevention and early detection.
