Validating Charities Through Donor Reviews
Perla Ni is CEO and Founder of Greatnonprofits.org, the largest nonprofit review site (think Yelp for nonprofits). Donors and investors want to know that their money is put to good use. But simply measuring overhead ratios does not give the full story. Instead you need to understand the impact on the ground the nonprofit is making; and that you can get from a holistic 360 view that GreatNonprofits allows for this 360 feedback in the form of constituent reviews because often the person receiving the service is best able to relay impact.
In this video clip, Perla talks about the importance of donor reviews in inspiring individuals to give at America’s Charities’ April 24th Giving Under The Influence Symposium in Washington, D.C. The discussion was geared to an audience of corporate social responsibility and nonprofit leaders attending the event, where America’s Charities also released its new report, Snapshot 2014: Rising Tide of Expectations – Corporate Giving, Employee Engagement and Impact.
