Ensuring Safe Environments Where Our Nation’s Children Can Grow Without Fear of Abuse and Neglect

Featured Charity: Prevent Child Abuse America

Prevent Child Abuse America works to ensure the healthy development of children and the prevention of child abuse and neglect nationwide.  We are about getting prevention right!

Child abuse and neglect takes many forms; abuse can be physical, emotional or sexual and various types of neglect may include physical, emotional or medical.  To prevent abuse and neglect from occurring, Prevent Child Abuse America has implemented the Healthy Families America program.  The Healthy Families America program is a voluntary home visitation program that strives to provide all expectant and new parents with the opportunity to receive the education and support they need at the time their baby is born.  Healthy Families America has reached over 95,000 families and expanded to nearly 600 sites!

In addition to Healthy Families America, Prevent Child Abuse America also has a network of 50 state chapters in order to address healthy child development and child abuse and neglect prevention at the community level.

We all play a role in prevention!

Of every dollar Prevent Child Abuse America receives, 87% goes directly to current programs and/or the development and implementation of new prevention programs, such as Healthy Families America, Pinwheels for Prevention, bullying prevention technical assistance center and child sexual abuse prevention technical assistance center.

No single organization has worked harder or longer to create innovative programs to ensure that our nation’s children can grow in safe environments without the fear of abuse and neglect.
