What LIVESTRONG’s New CEO Has to Say About Her First Day on the Job
Hi, everyone!
Today I am beyond excited for my first day at LIVESTRONG! I want to start out by thanking a few individuals. First off, a big thank you to our board of directors for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity. To the wonderful team: thank you for your warm welcome and for the important work that you do here day in and day out. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together. Special thanks to Doug Ulman, a brilliant leader who prepared this organization for even more success in the future.
And thank you to my family. Your support in this new venture and new city means the world to me. I could not and can not do this without you.
Finally, thank you to the cancer community – from the people we serve to our supporters and donors who enable us to accomplish this vital mission. I promise that we will do our best to serve you with grace and hard work as we continue to help people live with, through and beyond cancer.
In LIVESTRONG’s storied history, we have seen continuous growth and evolution since our inception in 1997 to our latest opportunity in building models of patient-centered cancer care with our incredible partners at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. We’ve spent 18 years addressing real issues and providing solutions for anyone affected by this disease, including the patient, family members, friends and caregivers.
We will continue to provide our first-class cancer support services and programs, as well as advocate for cancer patients and survivors. But in order to do these things even better, we must also think in bold new ways.
