Ideagen Quarterly Summit – Global Resiliency – America and the World in 2050 and release of InterSection – Fall Edition of Ideagen’s Quarterly Review

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 3, 2014 /3BL Media/ – The Ideagen 100, a cross-sector, collective impact member network where the world’s leading corporations, NGO’s, and public sector organizations convene to innovate and collaborate, hosted its latest quarterly summit at the historic Willard focused on the theme, Global Resiliency: America and the World in 2050.

The second edition of InterSection, the Ideagen Quarterly Review, was formally released at the Summit and can be viewed at: http://bit.ly/1zjEDha.

Impact leaders convened at The Willard in Washington to facilitate cross-sector collaboration, impact leadership, and collective impact. The overarching theme, “Global Resiliency: America and the World in 2050,” focused on the pressing needs and emergent strategies within four key topic areas: leadership, innovation, technology, and equity. Global resiliency was the particular focus in each of these topic areas.

George Sifakis, CEO and Founder of Ideagen, outlined the importance of global resiliency moving forward and introduced innovation speakers from across sectors including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Ritz Carlton, University of Houston’s Foresight Program, Global Communities, and Vodafone. Awards were presented to each of the following Ideagen members: Dr. Gail Christopher, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Lifetime Global Collaboration & Impact Leadership Award; Sue Stephenson, Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC, Global Collective Impact Award; June Sugiyama, Vodafone, Global Empowerment Award; Teri Blandon, Global Communities, Global Impact Leadership Award; Carol Thompson Cole, Venture Philanthropy Partners, Ideagen Impact Leader Award; William Symonds, Global Pathways Institute, Ideagen Innovation Award; Dave Wilcox, Global Skills X-Change, Ideagen Collective Impact Award; Dr. Kenneth Moritsugu, Former US Surgeon General, Lifetime Zero Degree Global Cross Sector Leadership Award; Wanda Monthey, College Board, Ideagen National Impact Leadership Award; Mr. Haile Gebreselassie, Honorary Chairman Ideagen Africa Global Citizen Award; and Dr. Andy Hines, University of Houston, Ideagen Distinguished Presenter.

During the ideation and strategy sessions, Ideagen members outlined ideas and emergent strategies to address global resiliency and the world in 2050.

A Collective Approach to Deliver a Collective Impact

Large-scale change to meet the unprecedented social, resource, business, political and organizational challenges of today requires broad cross-sector coordination. When organizations and leaders from different sectors commit to solving a specific problem through a collective approach, they can make a collective impact that far exceeds the potential of their individual agendas.
