How can you help commemorate the service and sacrifice of America’s law enforcement officers by supporting National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF)?

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund

Founded in 1984, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is dedicated to honoring and remembering the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers in the United States.

A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Washington, DC, the Memorial Fund built and continues to maintain the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial – the nation’s monument to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The Memorial Fund is a principal organizer of the National Police Week observance each May and hosts a Candlelight Vigil at the Memorial each May 13 to honor all fallen officers. In addition, the Fund maintains the largest, most comprehensive database of line-of-duty officer deaths, conducts research into officer fatality trends and issues, and serves as an information clearinghouse.

More recently, the Memorial Fund has launched a campaign to build the first-ever National Law Enforcement Museum, adjacent to the Memorial in Washington, DC. Scheduled to open in 2015, the Museum will tell the story of American law enforcement through exhibits, collections, research and education.

How can you help?

America’s law enforcement officers have dedicated their lives and careers to serving the public. They’re always there for us — and now, through the National Law Enforcement Museum, here’s our opportunity to be there for them.

Help make the National Law Enforcement Museum a reality
The “A Matter of Honor” Campaign was created to raise the funds needed to plan and build the National Law Enforcement Museum. Because the Museum is not paid for by taxpayers’ dollars, the money must come from private donations. It is a historic opportunity to be a part of — and a stakeholder in — the development of the only national museum dedicated to telling the story of law enforcement in America.

The Museum will attract hundreds of thousands of visitors a year, many of them school-aged children. All visitors will be treated to a state-of-the-art, interactive perspective of life behind the badge. The Museum is designed to help our citizens better understand and truly appreciate the critical role the brave men and women of law enforcement play in upholding the law and keeping our communities and our country safe. With your help, the story behind this vital profession will soon be told.

Whether you choose to make a financial contribution or donate an artifact, there are a number of ways in which you can assist us in creating this special place. We are asking for your help in making this campaign a great success.

Please consider it “A Matter of Honor.”

Give Through the Workplace:

Workplace giving is an effective and easy way for you to make a tax-deductible donation to National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund.

Check to see if your company supports a workplace giving campaign (if they don’t, encourage them to start one), and designate National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund  as your charity of choice. To make your workplace-giving donation go even further, ask your employer if they will join the effort by matching your donation.

If you are a federal employee, it’s easy to support National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) – just enter CFC #11631.
