How to Support Victims of the Moore, Oklahoma Tornadoes

The victims of the devastating tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma, just outside of Oklahoma City, will need immense support and help now and in the months ahead.

Many of America’s Charities members have been on the ground working to support first responders and victims since the disaster occurred.  But, they need your continued support.

Here’s how you can help the Moore, OK community recover:

Feeding America:

Feeding America food banks are trusted, long-standing community institutions, operating on the ground before disasters strike.  This allows them to respond quickly and efficiently to provide food, water and relief supplies to residents. And Feeding America remains in those communities to provide sustained support long after the first-responders leave and the news of disaster fades from the headlines. It is Feeding America’s network of food banks that continues to serve victims of disaster for the- months and even years ahead to bring hope for survival and a brighter future.

Feed The Children: 

Feed The Children is the largest non-profit agency located in Oklahoma with the largest storage capacity and will be accepting donations at their McCormick warehouse at 29 N. McCormick in Oklahoma City all week, as well as at several locations in the Oklahoma City area listed below. Each location is equipped with a trailer to receive items to help the victims and first responders.

Locations Accepting Donations:

• Feed The Children Distribution Center at 29 N. McCormick in Oklahoma City from 8:30 am – 4:30 p.m.  all week
• First Baptist Church OKC 1201 N. Robinson
• KOCO-TV 1300 East Britton Road, OKC
• Faith Tabernacle Church – I-40 and Portland, OKC
• TLC Garden Center 105 West Memorial in OKC

More sites will be added throughout the week.

Items Needed:

• Diapers
• Canned goods
• Non-perishable food and snack items
• Water and sports drinks
• Cash donations

Ways to Give:

• Check with your company to see if they are holding an employee disaster relief campaign you can give through.
• Cash and corporate donations can be made through Feed The Children’s website at www.feedthechildren.org/disaster or by phone at 800-627-4556.
• Text to Give: Text “Disaster” to 80888 to make a $10 donation. After you receive a confirmation message you must type “Yes” to complete the donation.
• Drop off donated items to one of the locations listed above.
