Author writes book for deceased daughter, The Children’s Inn at NIH

Barbara Louise Clouse returned to The Children’s Inn at NIH on June 20th for the first time since her daughter’s death three years ago.  Diagnosed with primary liver cancer when she was 23,  Clouse’s daughter , Michelle spent the next two years at The Children’s Inn while her parents took turns at her side.

“I was a stranger from Oklahoma, scared to death and trying to be strong for my daughter, ” said Clouse of Muskogee, Okla. “You walk in that door, you’re family.”  Since Michelle passed away in 2009, Clouse has written a book,  “The Healing Lodge,” inspired by her time at the Inn.
